A Story About Listening, Hospitality, and Why the Future Sometimes Chooses Unexpected Places
The story of BHBAI — Blue Horizon Above AI does not begin with an organisation or an announcement. It begins with trust.
When Attention Was the Only Currency
Wednesday, June 28, 2023—on a calm afternoon in Boracay—a group of global expats gathered at a hilltop, Spanish Gaudí–style villa overlooking the island in every direction.
The villa belonged to Sir Jason and Madam Del in the only way that truly matters — through time, care, and presence.
The gathering was informal.
Friends among friends. No agenda.
Then the presenter — a retired IT entrepreneur — asked something unexpected.
Phones were not merely silenced.
They were turned off.
Eyes were asked to close.
No one objected.
A question followed, one everyone had already asked:
“Will AI take over our lives?”
The answer came quietly:
“It already has. Your phone already decides when it gets your attention and what information you see. Right now, with your phone off, you are in control again. Just listen.”
Three minutes of music followed.
Music so precise and emotionally exact that the room became completely still.
Then the reveal:
“What you just heard was not composed by a human.”
In that moment, something irreversible happened.
Not fear.
Recognition.
Everyone understood that the future was no longer approaching. It had already arrived.
The age of AI had begun — not with noise, but with silence.
From a Single Afternoon to a Global Intention
That first presentation — prepared over more than eighty hours — became the seed for what would later take shape as BHBAI, a Swiss association dedicated to the responsible, human-centred evolution of artificial intelligence.
What followed were almost 1,000 consecutive days of uninterrupted work, leading to the creation of Symbiosis Score AI, now shared with finance leaders and institutional investors worldwide.
The Birth of "1 HUMANITY" and Blue Horizon Mother & Child
The intellectual property created through BHBAI is held by Blue Horizon Mother & Child, a Swiss charitable foundation supporting homeless mothers — ensuring that the work continues to generate benefit long after the people present at that first meeting have moved on.
The decision was intentional.
The future, if built responsibly, should outlive its builders. It was a decision across all cultures and nations. It was for "1 HUMANITY".
Why Boracay Became the Center
Boracay was not chosen for convenience.
It was chosen for clarity.
An island where:
Hierarchies soften quickly
Conversations slow down naturally
Executives walk barefoot
Listening happens without being scheduled
From the beginning, the Global AI Center in Boracay (GAIC) was imagined as a place where leaders from finance and AI could meet not as representatives of institutions, but as people.
One central idea by Sir Jason shapes everything that will follow the path of BHBAI:
To bring together English-speaking executives from global finance and AI with leaders from countries such as China, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Vietnam, the Philippines — and the world — supported by professional interpreters — so that insight would not be lost to language, and intelligence would not be filtered by fluency.
The goal is never perfect English.
It is shared understanding.
The Quiet Importance of Place
This is where Sir Jason’s villa re-enters the story — not as a symbol, but as a setting that had already proven something essential.
When people feel at ease, they listen differently.
Over the years, the villa had hosted conversations without urgency or performance. It offered a rare condition: space where complex ideas could surface naturally, without hierarchy, pressure, or spectacle.
For this reason, it became an intuitive setting for invitation-only international gatherings — where dialogue is unforced, and outcomes are allowed to emerge rather than be demanded.
In this sense, the villa is not a venue.
It is a condition.
A Different Kind of Center
The Global AI Center in Boracay was never intended to compete with established hubs.
Its purpose is different.
It exists to:
Encourage conversations
Humanise decisions that affect billions
Bridge cultures without flattening them
Ensure AI is discussed not only in terms of capability, but consequence
BHBAI provides the structure. Boracay provides the setting. Interpreters provide clarity. People who listen provide meaning.
Where the Story Continues
The next chapters of this story are not meant to be announced.
They will unfold quietly — through invited gatherings at the villa, through conversations supported by interpreters, through executives who arrive curious rather than certain.
BHBAI is a story that began with one invitation by Sir Jason.
And it is meant to continue there.
Some stories are written to be remembered.
Others are written so that something good continues long after the storytellers are gone.
“What you are hearing was not composed by a human.”
GLOBAL PROSPERITY
Where our International Guests Love to Eat
We simply asked our international visitors about their favorite restaurants in Boracay, and here are their answers.
SUBO
Subo is a leading Filipino restaurant offering a refined take on beloved local classics. Located just a short walk from White Beach, along Calle Remedios near Station 2, it celebrates traditional Filipino cooking techniques while regularly hosting cultural performances that showcase indigenous music and dance.
The restaurant is particularly known for its excellent seafood selection. Standout dishes include fresh Aklan oysters sourced from the mainland and seafood kare-kare, simmered in a rich peanut sauce. The chicken binakol, served as a fragrant broth inside a coconut shell, is another highlight. Vegetarians will also find a broad and thoughtfully curated selection of dishes.
CHA CHA'S BEACH CAFE
Cha Cha’s Beach Café is a relaxed beachfront venue in Station 2, serving as the in-house restaurant of Coast Boracay Resort along White Beach. It is well known for its daily sunset gatherings, branded as Cha Cha’s Sundown, featuring live DJs and musicians during happy hour from 3 to 8 PM, with buy-one-get-one cocktails offered to guests.
The café specialises in local and international fusion cuisine, presenting a carefully curated menu inspired by flavours from around the world. Popular breakfast choices include ube champorado, a sweet purple-yam rice pudding. Guests also frequently recommend the baked scallops and rice meals. Other highlights include a variety of seafood dishes, coconut mango tres leches, beach-grilled specialties, and pizzas.
DOS MESTIZOS
This popular Boracay restaurant has some of the best Spanish cuisine on the island, offering heirloom recipes typically served in traditional Filipino-Castilian homes. Dos Mestizos' staples and crowd favorites include paellas, tortilla de patata, salpicao de vaca, callos, and bacalao, while their hearty sampling of tapas are not to be missed.
Dos Mestizos has now moved from its original location along Calle Remedio on Station 2 to their current stomping grounds along the Main Road on Station 1, right across Sea Wind Resort.
LOS INDIOS BRAVOS
Los Indios Bravos is a gastropub located at White House Boracay, a beachfront resort on Station 1—an area renowned for having the finest sand and clearest waters along the entire stretch of White Beach. The name “Los Indios Bravos,” which translates to “the brave natives,” was coined by pioneering Filipino intellectuals in the 1800s who advocated social reform.
The gastropub serves classic pub fare inspired by cuisines from around the world, paired with a wide selection of all-Filipino, handcrafted beers on tap. In keeping with the pioneering spirit behind its name, the establishment proudly showcases Filipino craft beer as a central feature of its menu. Popular offerings include seafood platters, ribs, premium steaks, and fresh Aklan oysters, along with a selection of desserts—most notably the highly recommended banana bread à la mode.

The Place Where Boracay Feels Like Itself
Some places try to define Boracay. Nigi Nigi Nu Noos simply lets Boracay be Boracay. That difference matters.
For more than three decades, Nigi Nigi has been the kind of place people return to without planning to. You don’t “schedule” Nigi Nigi. You drift into it. And before you realise it, hours have passed, conversations have started, and strangers feel familiar.
A Place Full of Surprises
Nigi Nigi is often called “a place full of surprises.” Visitors experience it not as a slogan, but as a reality.
If you visit Boracay and haven’t been to Nigi Nigi, you may have seen the island, but you haven’t felt it.
From noon until midnight, the entire spectrum of Boracay flows through its doors:
Backpackers with red shoulders
Long-time expats who measure time in seasons, not years
Yacht explorers fresh from the horizon
First-time visitors who somehow look like regulars by sunset
No one is sorted. No one is rushed.
The New Home, the Same Soul
Recently, Nigi Nigi moved to a larger location on White Beach, just steps from its original home. The change was space. The character remains unchanged.
The band moved with it: The Calamity Survival Band, playing live every night — their name alone capturing something deeply Filipino: humour, resilience, and joy in motion.
So did the DJ. Jumanje Jumawan, Filipino, with twenty-five years behind the decks in London, now spins vinyl from a collection of over five thousand records, right in front of the band. There is no barrier between music and people. You feel it, not hear it.
Food You Can Trust
Nigi Nigi’s food does not try to impress you. It simply respects you.
Two gigantic windows reveal the main kitchen in full view — a quiet statement of confidence. Inside, the kitchen team works with precision, warmth, and visible pride.
Ask for recommendations and you’ll get honesty, not upselling.
A flaming kebab tower arrives — dramatic but earned — prepared tableside and finished with care. Mojos follow: flour-coated potatoes with tartar sauce, dangerously moreish. Dessert arrives by suggestion, not script: Pandoras, a rolled pancake dessert with fruit, maple or honey, and chocolate syrup. Simple. Perfect.
A banana shake — less sugar, more sense — is highly recommended.
Street Food, Done Properly
Nigi Nigi’s updated concept now includes street-food kitchens integrated directly into the space — open, spotless, and welcoming.
At Bangkok Bowls, guests are greeted with quiet confidence. The kitchen delivers honest, spicy, generous food that doesn’t hide behind fusion or shortcuts. Orders flow steadily. The space itself demonstrates that this concept works.
The People Are the Point
What truly defines Nigi Nigi is not the music or the food. It’s the people.
Many of the staff have been here for over a decade — not because they had to stay, but because they were respected enough to want to. Front desk, kitchen, bar, floor — everyone moves with the same energy: attentive without hovering, friendly without performance.
Staff like Sir Rey, who has been with Nigi Nigi for 13 years, provide continuity and care. Always present, always observant, he helps make every guest feel at home.
Time Works Differently Here
We came for lunch. Five hours later, the band was playing, conversations overlapped, and leaving felt unnecessary. This happens a lot at Nigi Nigi. People arrive with plans. They leave with stories.
Final Word
Nigi Nigi Noos is not trying to be fashionable. It is not curated. It does not chase relevance. It remains relevant by doing one thing exceptionally well: making everyone feel welcome, regardless of where they come from, how long they stay, or what’s in their wallet.
If you want genuine Filipino food, real music, effortless hospitality, and the feeling that Boracay is still, at its core, a place for people — go to Nigi Nigi.
You’ll probably stay longer than planned. Most people do.
A lunch invitation can easily turn into an unforgettable day and night in Boracay.
